Medical disclaimer

Glycoz is a personal record-keeping and communication tool. It stores health information you choose to record — across every module you switch on, from blood sugar readings taken on your own meter to medicines, blood pressure, weight, meals, activity and sleep — organises it, displays it back to you, and lets you share it with a doctor you have chosen to connect, or export it as a document you can give to anyone.

Where you connect a watch or band through Health Connect, Glycoz reads figures that device has already produced and files them alongside what you typed. It does not take those measurements and it does not judge them: the device measured, and Glycoz wrote it down.

It is the electronic equivalent of a notebook, a pill chart and a folder of lab reports. The value it adds is organisation, legibility and controlled sharing. It adds nothing to the clinical meaning of what you record.

• It is not a doctor, a nurse, a pharmacist or any other healthcare professional, and it does not stand in for one.
• It does not diagnose any condition, and it does not screen for one.
• It does not prescribe, recommend, adjust or discontinue any medicine, insulin dose, diet, exercise or treatment.
• It does not monitor you. It records what you enter, when you enter it. It does not watch you, it alerts nobody unless you press the emergency button yourself, and nobody is reading it as you record.
• It takes no measurement of your body. Every reading in Glycoz came from a meter, a device or a person — never from the app. What the app works out from your readings, and a meal estimate, are estimates, set out in clauses 4 and 5.
• It is not an emergency service and cannot summon help.

Never start, stop or change a dose, a medicine or any part of your treatment because of something you saw in Glycoz or read on this website. Decisions about your treatment belong to the doctor treating you, who knows things about you that no app does.

Glycoz is not intended to be used as a medical device, and has not been assessed as one. It is not registered, licensed, certified or approved as a medical device by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation or by any other regulator, in India or elsewhere. It is not intended for the diagnosis, prevention, monitoring, treatment or alleviation of any disease, injury or disability.

It has not been clinically validated, it has not been evaluated in a clinical trial, and no claim on this website or in the app should be read as saying otherwise. If you see wording anywhere in Glycoz that suggests it has a regulatory status it does not have, that wording is a mistake — please tell us and it will be corrected.

Glycoz includes, or may in future include, features that use automated or artificial-intelligence techniques to summarise, describe or answer questions about information you have already entered, or to estimate what is in a photograph of a meal you took. Those features are subject to every limit in this document, and to the following in particular.

Some figures Glycoz shows you are calculated from what you entered rather than measured. These are estimates, and their accuracy depends entirely on how many readings you recorded, when you recorded them, and whether your meter was accurate.

• Estimated HbA1c is derived from the readings you entered. It is not a laboratory HbA1c test, it is not a substitute for one, and it should never be used to judge whether treatment is working.
• Time in range reflects only the readings you happened to take. Readings you did not take are not counted, so the figure can look better or worse than the underlying reality.
• Averages and trends describe the numbers in your record. They do not describe your health, and a chart moving in a direction is not a prediction.
• Range labels — in range, high, low compare a reading against the target range in the app, which starts at a published standard until you change it. They are a display convenience, not a clinical assessment, and a reading marked “in range” can still need attention.

Connecting a doctor in Glycoz lets them read records you have chosen to share. It does not create a doctor-patient relationship, it is not a consultation, and it does not mean anyone is watching your readings. A doctor may not look at your record between appointments, and Glycoz does not alert them if something in it changes.

Glycoz is not a telemedicine service. It does not host consultations. Find a Doctor lets you ask a listed doctor to connect, and whether they accept is their decision; beyond that, Glycoz takes no part in the clinical relationship except carrying records between the two of you.

A prescription entry written by a doctor in the clinician panel is a communication record between that doctor and you. Whether it constitutes a valid prescription for any legal or pharmacy purpose is a matter for the doctor issuing it and the law that applies to them. Glycoz does not verify, validate or countersign it.

Glycoz for Clinicians displays patient-entered data. It performs no analysis you should rely on, and it is not clinical decision support software.

• Data shown is self-reported, unverified, and may be incomplete — a patient may have withheld a category, stopped logging, or entered a value incorrectly.
• The absence of a reading is not evidence of anything. Glycoz cannot distinguish a patient who is well from one who has stopped using the app.
• Summaries, charts, adherence figures and flags are display conveniences computed from patient entries. They are not clinical findings and must not be used as the sole basis for a clinical decision.
• You remain responsible for your own professional registration, for your practice, and for anything you write to a patient through the panel.
• Any AI-generated text you encounter must not be used to inform a diagnosis, a prescription or any other clinical judgement.

If you have symptoms of a severe low or a severe high blood sugar, or any other medical emergency, treat it and get medical help immediately. Do not open an app first, and do not wait for anything in Glycoz to tell you what to do.

Glycoz is not an emergency service. The emergency button on a doctor’s card sends that doctor an email and a notification with the note you typed — and only that. It does not call anyone, it does not reach emergency services, it does not escalate, and it cannot make sure the doctor sees it in time. If the alert cannot be sent, the app says so and tells you to phone. The Emergency Info module stores information you have written down so that a person helping you can read it — it does not summon that person.

Glycoz displays what you entered. As you type, it refuses a value outside what a body can produce — a guard against typing errors, not a judgement about your health — but it cannot detect a mistyped reading that is still possible, a meter that is out of calibration, or a dose recorded at the wrong time. Keeping your record accurate is your responsibility, and the usefulness of everything built on top of it follows from that.

The app is designed to work without a connection, but no software is available without interruption. Do not rely on Glycoz — or on any single system — as the only copy of information you would need in an emergency, and do not rely on a reminder as the only thing standing between you and a missed dose.
