Help

The things that actually go wrong.

Sorted by what happened rather than by which part of the app it happened in. If what you need is not here, a person will answer an email.

Reminders not going off? Check these three.

This is the most common problem by a distance, and it is almost never the app — it is Android saving power by silencing it. Check them in this order.

1. Allow notifications
Without this a reminder cannot appear at all. Android asks once; if it was declined, the switch is in the system settings for Glycoz.
2. Allow exact alarms
This is what makes a reminder fire at the time you set rather than whenever the system next decides to batch background work.
3. Set the battery setting to unrestricted
Optimised is the default and it is what silences reminders. On Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo and OnePlus phones there is usually an autostart switch to turn on as well.

Why this happens at all: a reminder you can sleep through is not a reminder, so Glycoz asks for exact alarms rather than ordinary notifications. That is also exactly the kind of permission a phone is most eager to take back.

Getting started

Do I have to create an account?
Yes, on first use. It is what lets your records be backed up and come back on a new phone. Once you are signed in, recording works whether or not you have a connection. Booking an appointment, the assistant, meal estimates and sending an emergency alert need one.
I have years of readings on paper. Where do I start?
Start from today rather than trying to catch up. A fortnight of complete readings with the right times against them is more use to a doctor than a year of half-remembered ones. Your old notebook does not stop being valid.
Which modules should I turn on?
A new account is asked once, when the app is first set up. Blood sugar, Generate Report, My Care Team, Find a Doctor and Emergency Info are always on. Add insulin if you take it, medicines if you want the reminders, and leave the rest until you have a reason. You can change this at any time in Module Config, and nothing is deleted when you switch something off.

Reminders

My reminders are not going off
Almost always battery optimisation. Android will silence a background app to save power unless you exempt it. Check the three things in the box above this list, in that order. Some manufacturers — Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus — have an extra autostart setting that needs turning on as well.
Will reminders work if my phone restarts?
Yes. Glycoz re-arms every alarm when the phone restarts, and again each time the app opens. On phones with an autostart setting — Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus — leave it on for Glycoz, or a restart can leave your alarms off until you next open the app.
Do reminders need internet?
No. They are scheduled on the device rather than pushed from a server, so they fire in aeroplane mode, with the app closed, and with no signal.

Your watch

Connect a watch or band
Open the Wearable tab and follow the three steps: pair the watch in its own app, let that app share with Health Connect, then choose which measurements Glycoz may read. No Wearable tab? The module is switched off — turn it back on in Module Config and the tab comes back. Glycoz reads through Health Connect rather than talking to your watch directly — so any band that writes to Health Connect will work, and none of them need a Glycoz account.
My watch data is not showing
Check that the watch's own app is writing to Health Connect first, then that Glycoz has permission for the measurements you expect. Glycoz only reads what is already in Health Connect — if the manufacturer's app has not put it there, there is nothing for us to read.
Why is my watch data kept separate?
Because a figure you typed and a figure a device produced are both true and they often disagree. Merging them would mean something silently picking a winner, so they are kept side by side instead.

Changing phones, and your data

Change phone without losing my readings
Before you switch: open Glycoz on the old phone while it has a connection and let it finish syncing. Then sign in with the same account on the new phone and your records come back. Anything logged on the old phone that never got a connection existed only there — so the sync is the step that matters. Walk and ride routes never leave the phone they were recorded on, so those stay behind.
Take a copy of my records
Generate a report in the app: a PDF to read, or a CSV of the records themselves, which opens in any spreadsheet. Save it or send it wherever you like. There is no backup file to carry to another phone — signing in there brings your records back instead.
Delete my account
In the app, open Settings › Your data and ask for your data to be deleted. Nothing changes for 30 days, and you can withdraw the request from the same screen; after that the account is erased by itself. Without the app, email us instead. The deletion page sets out both routes, what is removed and what is kept.
Something I logged has gone missing
Check whether the module it belonged to has been switched off — that removes it from view without deleting it. If that is not it, and the record was made on another device, check that device has synced. Write to us if neither explains it: a missing record is a bug we want to hear about.

Your doctor

Connect my doctor
Ask them for a code, then enter it from Your doctor on the home screen, or from My Care Team. Everything is shared with them to begin with; tap the doctor in My Care Team to switch off anything you would rather they did not see. The whole flow is set out here.
I sent a request and heard nothing
Requests you have sent sit at the top of Your Doctors while they are waiting, and you can withdraw one from there. If a doctor declines you are told why in general terms — not taking new patients at the moment, outside the area they cover, or not the kind of care they provide — so you know where to look next.
Stop sharing one category
Open My Care Team, tap the doctor, and switch the category off. It is hidden from them straight away. It deletes nothing from your own record, and your other doctors are unaffected.
End a doctor's access completely
From the same screen. Access stops immediately — not at the end of the month — and you do not have to tell them or explain why. They can no longer open your record, though ending it does not un-read what they had already read.
My doctor says they cannot see something
Check the sharing switches for that doctor first. Two things account for most of these. A category you switched off stays off, however long ago you did it. And a category added to the app after you connected that doctor starts off for them — you agreed to share what Glycoz recorded at the time, and something added later is not covered by that, so it waits for you. Both are switched on from that doctor's sharing screen, and take effect on their very next request.

Appointments and alerts

Book an appointment
Open Your Doctors, choose the doctor, then Appointments. You see the times their clinic actually has free, ask for one, and hear back in the app. Booking needs a connection — a diary booked offline is a diary that double-books, and the app says so rather than pretending.
What does the emergency button actually do?
The button is on a doctor’s card. It tells that doctor you need help, by email and a notification, with the note you typed. It does not call an ambulance and it does not reach emergency services. If it cannot be sent, the app says so and tells you to phone rather than showing you a tick. If you have symptoms of a severe low or a severe high, treat it and get medical help. Do not open an app first.
A notification arrived but did not say what it was
That is deliberate. A notification says your doctor sent something, never what — the words come from the database on your phone, after you unlock it, because a push notification crosses Google's servers to reach you.

Account and sign-in

I have forgotten my password
Use the reset option on the sign-in screen. Nobody can recover your existing password — it is stored in a form that cannot be reversed — so a reset is the only route, for us as much as for you.
Can I use the same account on two phones?
Yes. Both sync to the same account, and a record made on one appears on the other once both have been online. A record deleted on one stays deleted on the other rather than reappearing.

Still stuck? Write to a person.

There is no chat widget and no ticket number. An email reaches somebody who can actually look.

Email [email protected] or use the contact form. If it is about a reminder that did not fire, telling us which phone you have saves a round trip — the fix is usually specific to the manufacturer.

Nothing on this page is medical advice. If you have symptoms of a severe low or a severe high, treat it and get medical help. Do not open an app first.
